I updated This Mortal Coil to use @astro.build. It took me about 47 days working week nights and weekends. There's some vibe coding involved and a lot of learning as well. There's definitely bugs to work out, but I think Astro sets a foundation for new things to flourish...

Looking at the Emperor’s outfit from #BG3, I’m reminded of the rainbow portrait of Elizabeth I with its giant, unwieldy lace veil. Elizabeth, like the Emperor, knew that you are what you appear to be. I think #Illithids look nice in their renaissance garb, with the weird geometry of their homeland.

Now those parts of the Shrine will live right in the webcomic.
The even bigger goal is to make This Mortal Coil unpublish-able as a book and be truly multimedia.
The BIG goal:
* 2 characters on screen.
* changeable expressions
* backdrop (2d parallax)
* dialog box
* script "language" to define dialogue and expressions
* basic script runner
* click to advance, buttons to rewind, restart
* loading screen
* play button to start vn scene
You know, like that.
Eye textures...
The checkered version I laid out in Affinity designer. I cut the eyes out of the various expressions and aligned them. It's a 1k by 1k tex. Big, I know. But eyes are the window to the soul, right?
So I can fit 8 expressions in all... but I could do more, maybe. #threejs #blender
The body texture
Apologies for the mess... there's much to be desired about the setup. I'm not a texture artist. I'm just getting by on what I know.
I think the character tex can be done a lot better. More compact. The head... could probably be a mesh only with vertices painted. #blender #threejs
