Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year.

And America shrugged and moved on.

The MSNBC commentator saying that most political violence has historically come from the left just once again showed how we suffer from failing to learn history. Lynching, pogroms, race riots, the political violence that ended Reconstruction, and against the Civil Rights Movement. Come on.

You can condemn murder and political violence without whitewashing Charlie Kirk's shameful history of hate, racism, white nationalism and promotion of dangerous conspiracies that radicalized Trump supporters to violence.

You can do both.

Politics is the practice of debating the governance of a nation. The list of hateful, backwards, actively - proactively - harmful societal commentary propagandized by Charlie Kirk was not about government. It was always about restoring extra-governmental power to certain white, cishet men.

Both of the co-founders of Turning Point USA died from things that were preventable, but which they mocked and urged this nation to ignore. Bill Montgomery was killed in 2020 by COVID and Charlie Kirk was killed in 2025 by gun violence.
