ID cards are solving a problem that doesn’t exist. Good employers already ask for proof of right to work in the UK. It will cost billions and big corporates will handle the data. I’d be very happy to be proven wrong but until then… petition.parliament.uk/petitions/73...

I don’t oppose an ID card in principle. But I’m tired of people using arguments that don’t make sense. Employers must always ask for proof that the candidate can work in the UK: passport, biometric card, visa, you name it. So how is this helping? And now it seems it will get rid of poverty!? 😕
