Over the past couple of months I have been working on bringing the Observable spec to Safari.
It has been so amazing seeing it all come together now with EventTarget integration, and arguably the most fun I've had programming in a long time.

1. Uses async_hooks, so the db client is always ready.
2. Batched by default using jsr.io/@mr/dataloader
3. Automatic sql escaped arguments, `${survey_id}` expands to { sql, named_args }

WebKit is such an awesome
project to contribute too. Just landed a fix for popovers and showModal that now require a fully active document. Having direct access to the web platform, is such a superpower. It really helps you understand how to "better user land".

The only piece missing from jsr.io is export conditions. One ends up with an awkward documentation situation with a /browser and /deno style import.

Been having so much fun contributing the Observables spec to WebKit, and to pass 144/258 of the web platform tests. Some of this has shipped in Safari Technical Preview, behind a feature flag. My goal is to be 100% by the end of the year!

my desk (ZenSpaceDesks) came with a pretty cool cable rack. Not the neatest right now, but works super great!

that's actually really nice mate, what is the latency like to check that a request can go through?

I suspect just caches cache that response at the edge once the check is green?
