In the distance is a jagged mountain range and a black sky above with wispy red clouds. In the foreground is a small mound of land protruding from the water. There's a sword sticking out of it and an ambiguous dark red fluid trickling out from where it's planted. It's surrounded by what appear to be dead bushes, there's no leafs on them and the wood is pure white with some faint red streaks that vaguely look like veins. The texture of the canvas is somewhat warped and bumpy because it's been used for a number of paintings over the years. Each time a piece was finished the canvas would get coated with gesso so it could be used for another painting. The hair-thin branches and sticks of the forest were made by taking a pin and scratching in the canvas, creating fine cuts through layers of different paintings and revealing other red colours beneath the surface. It isn't that noticeable though since a phone camera was used to take a picture of the painting and a lot of details were lost. The painting is supposed to depict a cursed land with a wound that will never heal, but each year it hurts a bit less.

In the foreground is two small mounds of land protruding side-by-side from the water. The one on the left has a couple little trees and a bush, they're pitch black with some white leafs. The mound on the right just has a small dead shrub. The two patches of land are close enough that they might have been part of the same land mass at one point, but are now separated by the water as if it's been slowly rising.
