Once again, magical thinking when it comes to Northern Ireland and international relations. But it doesn’t mean they won’t try.

Quite recently to take these returnees. Not exactly patriotic. But that’s populism. Just because it won’t work - or work as planned - doesn’t mean it won’t be tried. A key error of late is not taking populists at their word. Don’t expect the outcome they propose: but expect the policy to be tried.

Those of us who like to spend time in archives will probably find this comment among one of Rogan’s most disgusting.

The slash and burn of academic research currently ongoing in the US should deeply concern us all. It’s awful for those at any stage of their career, but one imagines the impact on PhD researchers and early-career scholars will be especially stark.
