I’m kind of feeling down, but I like to go back to this thread from around New Year’s, especially this post. I may not see the changes I’d like, but I know they’re happening and I’m probably in the best shape I’ve been in 10 years (with lots of room to go)

Like, I know I’m there to work on myself. I’m doing a great thing by going regularly and I should be proud of myself. I just see the gap between me and others a lot more clearly when it’s a number on a machine.

It’s weirdly demotivating for me to go to the gym and sit down at a machine that the last person had set to 170 lbs and then set it to like 30. I know I’m a newbie and I have many years of hard work ahead of myself, but like I’m kinda ashamed it took me this long to treat fitness seriously?
