curious; all meat and poultry must be USDA inspected although they might not be graded. you might wanna ask Winn-Dixie about this...

What does New Hampshire Republicans' renewed attack on the Office of Health Access (formerly the Office of Health Equity) reveal about this political moment in America? Just about everything. #NHPolitics
19.11.2025 21:41 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I suppose that next our children will be taught that "e pluribus unum", out of many, one, doesn't mean what Franklin & Jefferson proposed: that from different & diverse states, we can unite to become one nation.
rather it may become: we will cast out any who are different until everyone complies.
NH pols want to put money into the economy using cuts in regulations as funding. that might sound reasonable on the surface but it directs those benefits to just a few businesses rather than adding any cash to the general budget.
not to forget the health risks involved which ARE dispersed to all.
I've stopped shopping in Salem entirely even if it means I have to go a longer way. If NH wants to turn into Mississippi they'll do it without a sibgle dollar from me. I'd rather pay sales tax and be safe. Hell, I think we should put up tool booths on so they pay for the roads they use to work in MA

Thinking more broadly โ not to undermine the serious issue of unregulated meat, but
How is HB396 to allow โthe in-state sale of certain meatโ?
Tell me how New Hampshire meat is going to stay in NH?
Come on, stores in CT, MA and VT sell NH meat.
I guess weโre supposed to trust every farmer?
indeed. the bordering states can pass regulations, I suppose..
but people are people.
I hear that. meat is a rare treat for me, not a staple of my diet.

but I won't eat unregulated meat.
Disgusting to think to deregulate beef, pork, and chicken. A line needs to be drawn. Tainted meat means lawsuits and possible death to โcustomers.โ Unreal.
19.11.2025 17:24 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I repeat my WTAF, NH?
the 'farmers are good people' theme (they are inherently altruistic so we should just trust them) collides quite early with the 'farmers are desperate to save their business' reality.
someone brought this issue to the politicians & it wasn't folks shopping at Aldi.
oh wow! I love this. thanks for sharing.๐
19.11.2025 17:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0WTAF, #NewHampshire?
the argument that allowing farmers to process their own meat without FDA inspection will increase sales & profit ignores the fact that people don't want to risk eating potentially tainted meat.. that's less money, NH farmers, not more.
