To this end I think one's enjoyment of either is a lot more binary, just as if you do not get enjoy arousal you will not enjoy any pornography, you will not enjoy any horror if you don't like the sensation of coursing adrenaline.

I once saw a comparison between horror and pornography, in that they were both the out groups of film in that they were both made to invoke a (admittedly very different) biological response in someone more then anything else, so things like 'plot' can thus fall by the wayside.
