Columbia staff receive texts asking if they're Jewish, as government hunts antisemitic harassment on campus Barnard employees received the text as Columbia University students plan a new tent encampment to protest the Israel-Hamas war.

I really wish reporters would stop saying that there is an effort by the Trump administration to combat antisemitism. It is quite the opposite. There is an effort to foment antisemitism.

Trump approval breaks below 40%—39% to be precise, in the new AP-NORC poll. 76% approval among Reps is sorta low, and the rating from independents is far closer to Dem evaluations than Reps. Maybe this will embolden some in Congress to fight him.

Let's be clear. Congress has the constitutional power to levy tariffs, not the president.

Call your reps and demand they pass immediate, veto-proof legislation to reclaim Congress's trade authority and stop Trump from single-handedly tanking our entire economy.

Alarm as Florida Republicans move to fill deported workers’ jobs with children: ‘It’s insane, right?’ Governor Ron DeSantis leads push to loosen child labor laws as immigration crackdown leads to workforce shortage Beneath the smugness of Ron DeSantis, at Florida leading the nation in immigration enforcement lies something of a conundrum: how to fill the essential jobs of the scores of immigrant workers targeted for deportation. The answer, according to Florida lawmakers, is the state’s schoolchildren, who as young as 14 could soon be allowed to work overnight shifts without a break – even on school nights. Speaker Mike Johnson floats the possibility of Congress eliminating federal courts.

This comes as courts have blocked a series of actions taken by the Trump administration, along with Trump and his allies calling for the impeachment of certain district court judges.

The Mayor's Preliminary Budget left out $$ for early childhood education, restorative justice, mental health supports, community schools, immigrant family outreach, and more. These programs are supported by expiring one-year city funds and could be rolled back as soon as July if leaders don't act.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act remains in place. All students with disabilities have the right to a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment. Your child should receive all the supports and services on their Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Transgender and gender expansive students are protected by state and local law and regulations. Schools are required to use a student’s chosen name and pronouns, and all students have the right to use restrooms and participate on sports teams that match their gender identity.

Your child has the right to attend public school, no matter the language you speak, the country you were born in, or when your family arrived in the United States. Schools should not ask students or families to report their immigration status, and non-local law enforcement, including ICE, are not allowed into school buildings unless they have a warrant signed by a judge.

one thing that's worth pointing out about the current wave of constituent fury at Republican town halls: the reason you're primarily seeing those viral moments in ruby red districts is because every Republican whose district is even remotely competitive is actively hiding from their constituents
