I’m especially enjoying chapter four, which gets into how the supposedly timeless image of the rural indigenous Palestinian gets dropped in favor of other symbols like the cosmopolitan or the militant, only to be readopted later when nostalgia among or resistance against other parts of (1/2)

But if you are a fan of that kind of thing I def recommend, what I have been able to understand has been fascinating

It’s such a weird space, there’s so much like… idk weird transphobic gotchas and pontificating and “just asking questions” engagement bait… idk why it feels worse than X even though it clearly isn’t

I’m watching several valiant POC posters getting called “colonized” for reading two sentences into a piece from a literary journal and discovering that it’s describing cannibalistic motifs in American literary depictions of black people and not an actual nationwide conspiracy of racist cannibals

Love how many choices you have for content on threads, you press “not interested” on posts advocating open white nationalism so instead it starts serving you equally batshit insane, regressive black nationalist qanon shit
