I can't listen to people talk about the Leafs anymore. When they win they've outworked the other team. When they lose they haven't. Ok thanks for the analysis

Do they hate Robertson that much. I only consume smart hockey podcasts that have been calling him the best American forward for like 3 years

Precisely one of these markets has conversations every week about whether their player is actually bad

Incredible game. McMann. Roy. Domi. Dakota Joshua. Matthews with a patented Matthews goal. OEL (hope he's ok). Nicky Robby with the strip and snipe. About as much as you could ask for. Unfortunately, Nylander was invisible again

Never seen a call like that. Of course, Craig Simpson believes it's a good call

This should be a 5-on-3 for the Leafs by the way. If we actually called the rulebook

I posted a week ago about how the Leafs' "defensive posture" mindset is actually the issue and again, you watch them play in the defensive zone, and they have no sense of what to do except "get to a spot on the ice." Never seen a team play so passively, collapse so hard, and get seamed so hard

If nothing else, this expands the range of "things to cheer for" this year. Like, for me, it's "nice Nylander plays," "wins," and "losses, at this point, technically, as long as we don't win a lot of games and are in play for bottom 5." You know. Playing da field

That does kind of sound like 7 forwards we're icing and 2 more we're pressboxing

100% the exact same play by Lizotte that Domi got called for prior to Lizotte's breakaway. Of course, we don't actually call penalties in this league or sport. It's just vibes

Really smart play by Max Domi to hook into the hands of a guy in the middle of the ice. He knows that the refs usually even up the calls. And the Leafs have been really working on their powerplay. So once the calls get evened up, which usually happens, the Leafs vaunted powerplay will go to work

I feel like I say it every time the Leafs play the Penguins. Can't wait for the refs to respect the Leafs vets the way they do Malkin and Crosby. Just flop around and get calls. I'm sure it'll happen some day

A tweet from Benjamin Pierce that reads: "#GoBolts coach Jon Cooper on Holmberg postgame: 'The puck is like glued to his stick. He can have the biggest players in the league on top of him and he just knows how to protect it.'"

He is quote-tweeting his own tweet, and that one reads: "By far the best takeaway from today's game is Dan Hinote revealing on @BoltsRadio that Pontus Holmberg's nickname has become "The Backpack" for his strength and ability to carry defenders on his back unfazed.

Raddysh just referred to it again in the postgame."

Did my first post on Twitter in over a year making fun of a clip of Jay Rosehill on his podcast talking about Nylander but forgot Jay Rosehill followed me on Twitter. Now he's telling me he would make me "look silly out on the ice"

Also, NHL games should start at 5 pm exactly. I don't care about fans "getting home from work." Figure it out. Game's done by 7:45, time for some dinner, go about your evening. 5 pm is the correct start time

It's a brutal loss for the Leafs, but honestly I feel the most for JD Bunkis, Nick Kypreos, and Jay Rosehill. They have to go on their podcasts tomorrow and they can't even blame William Nylander. The confusion they must be feeling

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. They were out-shot/attempted/xGed last year and went 22-4-4 in 1 goal games or whatever. They’re really bad, don’t get me wrong, and I’m not saying they don’t deserve to lose or w/e. They’re just also getting burned in ways that feel extra shitty
