Iโ€™ve been taking some event photos this weekend and Iโ€™m so out of practice. Iโ€™m hoping I got a few good ones. Iโ€™ll have to wait and see when I process them.

Iโ€™m at an event doing some cosplay photography for fun and Iโ€™m so out of practice. Iโ€™m using a new digital camera too and I need to learn how its autofocus settings behave.

I used to have an original X100 years ago and loved it, but sold it to put towards funding a Sony A7R. The X100 was so much fun, which is why Iโ€™m considering Fuji.

15.04.2025 05:38 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Speaking to a few people the consensus seems to be, use Capture One, or a more recent version of Lightroom. Or shoot Jpeg, as Fuji Jpegs are nice and you can utilise the film effects.

14.04.2025 16:29 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

In my case my current version of Lightroom is vintage. It wonโ€™t handle Fuji raw files. So I might have to give Capture One a play.

14.04.2025 12:17 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Basically what software do I need to use for Fuji raw files? I hear theyโ€™re a bit different and not all post processing software supports it.

Iโ€™m seriously considering getting a digital Fuji Camera. I shoot raw. Iโ€™m trying to figure out a good workflow and if itโ€™s worth it. Does anyone here have advice/suggestions?

But I had a think about it and the most likely thing I can think of if thereโ€™s a dispute with another person and the photographer, they canโ€™t check the photos quickly onsite to confirm things.

Iโ€™ve been to a gig before and they wouldnโ€™t let me take my film camera into the venue. They were fine with my Sony A7R II, but not my film camera. So I had to hand it into the bouncers if I wanted to enter the venue. They werenโ€™t clear on why they didnโ€™t allow analogue film cameras specifically.

05.04.2025 07:15 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 173    ๐Ÿ” 11    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I agree! A nice 35mm premium compact would have been more popular.

27.03.2025 11:11 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

The Ektar is also more plastically and you get what you pay for with it. If the 17 was full 35mm would it have sold more? As half frame means more snaps, but lower resolution, which is a juxtaposition to a more premium price point.

27.03.2025 09:18 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

For the tech in it, yes for the price, but there were elements in the camera that felt cheaper than the price point. I agree with the level 1 to 3 sentiment. Youโ€™ve also got to factor in the competition. They competing with Kodak Ektar which is significantly cheaper.

27.03.2025 09:15 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I agree too. Itโ€™s also an odd camera as itโ€™s expensive, but also plasticy for the price point. Iโ€™ve had a play with one and couldnโ€™t justify buying it.

25.03.2025 19:07 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

How big will the raws be?! Assuming itโ€™s like the GFX100S II it can be set to over 200MB per raw file.
