Republicans just had another failed flip opportunity in a special election that should’ve been an easy win for them. Since Trump’s 2024 win, they’ve faced defeat after defeat – even in red districts. It’s clear the backlash to their toxic agenda is reaching across the country.

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, I’m sharing this photo of Andrea’s grandparents because the Holocaust isn’t distant history for our family. Her grandmother survived Auschwitz. Her grandfather survived a Nazi labor camp.

I agree with the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the National Governors Association that these scenes of violence and chaos in our streets are unacceptable and do not reflect who we are, and that officials at all levels play a critical role in de-escalating tensions.

I ​stand with the American Nurses Association, Kentucky Nurses Association,​ the AFGE​, and our labor organizations here in Kentucky and around the country in their calls for a full, unencumbered investigation and their condemnation of violence that endangers the public and law enforcement alike.

It broke my heart to see ​the video​ shared ​following Nurse Pretti's death of him leading the​ "final salute” ceremony for a veteran who passed away​ - a VAMC tradition of solemn reflection for the service and sacrifice of our brave men and women in uniform.

As a physician, I trained at the​ Robley Rex VA Medical Center as a medical student, internal medicine resident and geriatric medicine fellow. As faculty, I served as the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) for Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) and the Chief of Hospice and Palliative Care.

I want to express my condolences to the Veteran​s Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) community, ​our nurses​ across the country, and the family of Alex Pretti, the VAMC registered nurse​ and AFGE member who was shot on Saturday by ICE officers.

Proud to stand with the Jefferson County Teachers Association (JCTA) and mental health professionals caring for kids in our schools. Our message to public officials is clear: mental health matters - to our students, educators, parents, and families 💚 #CaringforKentucky
