‘What is community ? - that $ 64k question @rowanconway.bsky.social asks me a lot. Still looking for an answer to that one. Dig where you live is my longstanding interim position until proven otherwise.

Communitarianism feels like one of those vague, academic terms no real person uses that gets thrown around without much practical weight. If it ever actually had real substance, it’s been diluted by ossification of structural inequality, political hypocrisy, and the rise of digital tribalism.

The very same Haldane who has done his best to ruin the RSA .. Many RSA Fellows are dismayed and loads have left. A 82% staff turnover since April 2022 and RSA workers have taken strike action for the first time in history under his tenure. Capitulation Kool Aid imbiber. The hypocrisy & hubris !!

Had a fascinating chat with an elderly gent who lived in these prefabs post the war to solve the overwhelming housing crisis then. They were in situ for 20 years ! He regaled stories of how safe they are & the strong bonds of community. A solution to our current housing crisis perhaps !
