I have SUCH trouble with them and have to be so picky about the protein sources. Whey protein makes me so so sick.

- signed a Fallout girlie who has to deal with 76 having other people which almost made me stop playing because every single person who initiates any player interaction is either being an asshole or just being annoying. In my experience PVP people are literally always toxic.

I may be one of the people who “play stories” but like… from my perspective people who play MMOs or anything that allows PVP have forgotten that most games are just games you play alone and a lot of people ARE playing games they just don’t like having other people interact.

The Celts were a huge population! A lot of Europe would have been Celtic in some way. I spend so much time reminding people that Celtic cultures are huge and diverse and don’t involve a central belief system or language! “Celtic” paganism that’s really meaning to be Irish is such a problem.

I have a friend who’s super into Iberian recon paganism and I’ve gotten to learn so much from them! But largely I’ve learned how HARD it is to reconnect with! Mainland Europe really got just culturally erased between Romans and Christians! It’s a good thing to make an effort towards.

Since we’re culture sharing: Today isn’t Samhain it’s actually Oíche Shamhna (EE-ha How-na) since Samhain is November, this is November eve!

From my Irish recon perspective I’d always say to just use the Irish word since the spelling rules don’t translate well (it being an M sound makes it a different word more or less), but it’s a cool thing to make an effort to do! I’m going to read about Magosto I hadn’t heard of it!

I’m curious how you pronounce Samaín in Spanish without the lenited m! In Irish it’s saw-wen but I feel like that spelling in a Latin based language is actually the hard M most people think is in the Irish Samhain.

I love the myth of the bush cut largely because all involved parties’ response to hearing about it is “why would we have cut out her bush???”

Yeah I call my anxiety episodes brain tantrums. My inner goblin/toddler is just upset and confused and doesn’t know things like medical science that gives me evidence my delusions aren’t happening.

That’s a great way to occupy the parts of your brain that are being more active than they need to be! It’s like giving a toddler a fidget toy.

It’s even better if you have a trusted person and you can trade off letters with them because then there’s less room for your brain to insert panic thoughts since you’re part of a conversation with an outside person!

Yeah all anxiety related disorders are holding hands!! You’re def not alone.

Idk if this helps but if I’m in a spiral and other tools aren’t working I play the abc game which is just pick a subject and then find a word for every letter. So animals: ant, bear, crocodile, dingo, etc.

Helps me a lot!

I’m seeing a couple of people kind of diagnosing you with OCD and I want to just note that I have BPD and issues with regulating my thoughts often go hand in hand with my issues with impulse control. There are dozens of disorders that would include this as an aspect, def including gen anxiety.

I can super recommend hydroxyzine for panic/invasive thoughts like this! Super quick and gentle and non habit forming.

For me I attribute those spirals more to my death phobia and often my agoraphobia. While I do think it’s a type of hypochondria I don’t think mine are quite the same as what people who actually have that go through. I do have to take panic pills to sleep often though because I’m so afraid of stroke.

Hello everyone,
As most of you know I am getting back on my feet in new housing and due to lack of transportation, I missed a few important shifts and gigs this week. I am now behind on my bills but have to prioritizing rent. I will be needing help around $800 by 11/1.

Just because it doesn’t work for you, you couldn’t do it, or you haven’t liked stories with that primary perspective doesn’t mean that as a blanket rule it’s a bad thing. Experimenting and playing with perspective and genre is how media and narrative develop.

Like I get what you’re saying in this original post but this just isn’t how writing or choosing a main perspective works. Sometimes observational roles are the best ones to tell the story! A lot of Capote’s work, a lot of first person and mystery, and a lot of a lot of stuff uses that.

Watson follows Holmes around taking notes and trying to keep up. He also sometimes makes suggestions and points things out. And get the stories are still named Sherlock Holmes because he’s the focus of the plot…

Doyle resented Sherlock later in his career because he was stuck writing stories about him and tried to kill him off. Doesn’t change that the stories are entirely POV Watson and are literally from his perspective. Ditto Dracula. Ditto a lot of fiction.

Tbh one of the things with writing is that no rules matter. Just write. It works or it doesn’t! Sometimes observational characters don’t work, sometimes they do!

What about all of Sherlock Holmes? Or like… half of fiction? Weird hill to die on tbh.

The oops placement made me initially think this was a comic panel and she had accidentally crotch slammed something 😂

Tidal is owned by the same people who own both Bluesky and the Square payment processing company, both of whom are actively contributing to censorship and other things that I question the wisdom of supporting. At least they pay more! They don’t have half of my music, though. I’m thinking YT Music.

The ones that immediately come to mind for me are Monsters (2010), Magnolia, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Stopmotion, any iteration of Nosferatu… many A24 movies.
One battle after another is still in theaters and is just an all around banger that also uses this style.

Well it’s “based” on a “true story” but it is excellent for sure.

I wish the payoff was better fleshed out. I’ve tried rewatching it twice but I still feel like it fails to stick the landing. Everything in the first 3/4 slaps but then it just takes a turn for boring low effort shock at the end there.
