Haha, something is seriously up with that helipack. I was playing it with my friend last week and she was showing me how you could stack speed by doing repeated neutral long jumps. It's been 23 years and it's still not patched, unacceptable!!!!

Was playing Ratchet & Clank 1 on my PS2 and realised that you can use the helipack in space! There is no air in space, terrible game 0/10. Ruined the whole experience. I hope it never gets a sequel!

I started playing Exapunks a few days ago and it's amazing. It's managing to scratch the itch for making things efficient, and better yet there's 3 different goals to make them efficient. Haven't gotten too far because I can't leave the current stage until I match the WR (or am close enough)

Just curious, Is this for getting indexes to your systems?

I've normally approached this kinda thing using unique int ids i define on each system on initialisation during runtime. Those indexes can then map directly to an array of the systems. Is that an approach you've considered?

It also speaks a lot to how draconian the british government has gotten with policing protests considering the severity of the sentences that people are receiving for peaceful protest

It was very interesting and inspiring to hear about the stories of these people who are willing to incarcerate themselves in service of their fight against climate change. Makes me think that i should be finding ways to contribute to the effort

Like the gameplay loop of something like dark cloud/chronicles is clearly a stepping stone towards games like stardew valley, mixing the rpg, dungeon crawling and building elements into a single package

I wonder what kinds of games we could have if so much funding wasn't absorbed into these £100 million+ projects. I feel there's a limit on how much small indie teams can afford to pursue but it seems to be the only space right now where untested and unexplored ideas are made into full games

I think it says a lot about the creative risks that went into these games which were for their times large projects while also shows how we've managed to refine those ideas and improve upon them today

Been playing ps2 games from my childhood. It's been interesting how some are clearly ahead of their time, like Dark Chronicles and it's combination of dungeon crawling and city building creating an amazingly fun game loop. While others like wipeout are utterly outclassed by their modern incarnations

AI at it's finest. I might as well never code again. I could never achieve such lofty feats 💀
