Flower was the first person I saw rock the shahi baaja (or whatever variation he plays) in person. Still the most transcendent one I have seen also, always a treat. Look forward to watching this.

In the broken ecosystem that typically surrounds "being in a band" (little reward other than in the doing & community you can build) it is always heartening to me to see bands like this just casually doing what they do at such a high level. We are lucky to have them in town.

Nice to see Charlottesville do something right now & again, in this case putting one of the town's best bands on a big stage. New Boss is loaded with talented people & are also writing some of the best power-pop/classy rock around. I will be in packing hell preparing for a move, but you should go.

I prefer to be shot straight. The culture and lack of boundaries has been worse at places that use "People Officer" over simple HR language in my experience. But they sure try to tell you otherwise.

Outer World record number 2 is well under way & Added Dimensions is soon to open for ESG at U4 Fest in Philly & then likely tour with Mesh, a great band outta Philly. Maybe you'll get to see her play, it's a delight.

Here is her show from a couple of weeks ago. As far as variations on "rock" music go, she hits a particular sweet spot I think. Great new and classic punk/post-punk/no-wave/etc. Set list at the link below will give you the gist.

Erin O is doing her final radio show for some time tomorrow night, which is good for her (she is a very busy person & doing radio from 11pm-1am on a week night is tough) but the radio will be a lesser place without her. She digs up very good stuff on the regular & plays great new stuff constantly.
