One of the interesting lessons from the last 6 weeks is how worthless your Constitution is if nobody is prepared to take risks defending it. The Legislature has been sidelined and Judiciary ignored, checks and balances gone out the window like a puff of smoke.
That Constitution will never come back.

Unfortunately also utterly irrelevant. Your authoritarian regime controls the military, media, treasury and law enforcement.
The legislature is complicit and the Judiciary is compliant. So while you may wish for freedom and justice, your government is on a different path.

To outside observers like Europe, it’s astonishing how rapidly the US Constitution was dismantled and how the Democrats failed to lift a finger in its defense!

Lessons there for us, take nothing for granted.
And don’t underestimate the power of media to brainwash a nation.

You might get the illusion of democracy through gerrymandered elections but that’ll be it.

The We are powerless.
The military, treasury, media and law enforcement are all under authoritarian control.
The legislature has sidelined itself and the judiciary is being ignored.
The Democratic Party is a disgrace.
The We have no hand to play.

The opinion that the “we” referenced is no longer a coherent unified body of people.
And thusly less able to “take out the trash”.

Wouldn’t the comparative metrics be better served by replacing the Aviva game total attendance with the total for a full Dalymount?

And talking about how the whole thing will be different after the midterms next year.

Do they really think that Trump/Musk/Vance and Project 2025 are going to risk free elections ever again??

Being “appalled” is all very well, but doing something about it is a different matter. And Americans have to do something now, in two years they’ll be well embedded and your democracy will be an increasingly distant memory.

Which “We” ??

The fascists are in your midst, they’re your neighbours, your officials, your elected representatives.
They own your media, control your treasury, your military, your government.
