The rain and milder air has arrived in the Southwest and will extend across the country through this morning. A big contrast in temperatures either side of the Irish Sea this morning.

Some windy weather Thursday but thankfully the worst of it will stay out to Northwest of Ireland but some big seas are forecast with significant wave height of 12.5m Northwest of Ireland!

A wet Wednesday morning so allow some extra time for your commute and don’t forget your raincoat!

Stil amazes me how many birds visit the pond every morning.

The rollercoaster of low systems coming across the Atlantic looks to be starting up again. This can bring us spells of wet and windy weather with risk of storms.

A frosty start to Tuesday for many with temperatures ranging from -2c to 8c and some icy patches. But a lovely sunrise ahead with plenty of early sunny spells before cloud and rain move in from West after dark.

Risk of strong winds off the West coast Thursday into Friday that could bring us some impacts. Also interesting that the two main weather models show risk of storm around 2nd or 3rd of December. Long way off but one to keep an eye on.

Very mixed Sunday with lovely sunshine for some but heavy rain in North and also heavy showers in South and West with strong winds. Good sunny spells for most tomorrow and Tuesday but feeling fresh in biting wind.

Sunday looking rather windy so if you were planning to put up Christmas decorations then maybe hold off. Not because of the weather but because it’s still November 😆

Cloud and rain moving in from West along with some milder air. Rain will slowly move East but won’t reach Eastern areas until around 8-9pm.

Down to -5.3c at my station and as high cloud moves in we could see a nice colourful sunrise in the East. Allow extra time to defrost the car this morning.

Still a lot of uncertainty around Sunday’s forecast but models continue to show risk of strong winds. The GFS model that wasn’t showing the low system developing at all has now come more inline with other models.

Spot the snow in parts of Northern Ireland, England and Scotland

The bad news is the rain is coming tomorrow Friday but the good news is the worst of it for most areas will be overnight. Over 5mm for most with over 10mm for a few spots, rain will arrive in the West around 4-5pm and move across the country.

Temperatures ranging from -3c to 6c with highest temperatures on the coast. A frosty start so allow extra time to clear the ice.

Ice forming on the cars so allow some extra time for the clearing the windscreen in the morning.

Still huge uncertainty on the models for the weekend forecast. The GFS model doesn’t develop the low system really at all but other models do and bring us wind and rain. The UKMO model is the worst case scenario at present with very strong winds early Sunday.

Nice blue skies for many but scattered showers in North or West with a biting windchill.

A lot of uncertainty around the weekend but risk of low system Saturday night that could bring some strong gusts, highest risk for Southwest at present but one to keep an eye on.

A chilly Wednesday morning with windchill making it feeling even cooler but some nice sunny spells ahead. Also scattered showers in North and Northwest with some falling as snow.

Still huge uncertainty around Saturday so take any forecast with a pinch of salt for now

Showers mainly dying out here but plenty of snow showers for Scotland as radar shows. Pink is snow and rain is green.

Interesting times ahead for weather watching as some longer term signals show increased risk of colder weather in December. Impossible to call what impacts it will have here in Ireland but certainly interesting to follow.

The UK Met office have a number of snow and ice warnings out, including Northern Ireland tomorrow. Most of the snow will be on higher ground but the odd shower could fall at lower levels for a time.
