29.10.2025 22:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Other times, like when I am GMing one of my regular #PF2e #ttrpg games, my thinking falls back to Unsymbolized Thinking. It is much more... Reactive? I'm not really "thinking" any specific thought, but almost keeping an idea web going throughout the game.
29.10.2025 22:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0At work, I do a lot of Worded Thinking. It helps keep concrete details like measurements, various math formulae, & materials lists in the forefront of my thoughts.
To *really* focus, I will actively vocalize my thoughts. Much to the annoyance of those around me.
Personally, I generally shift between "worded thinking" and "unsymbolized thinking" depending on what I'm doing.
Directed, conscious, focused thinking (like typing this) uses WT. But if I'm doing something more passive or reactive, it is more UT.
It's almost 20 yrs old now, but Russell T. Hurlburt and Christopher L. Heaveyfrom UNLV actually put together an interesting "dictionary" of terms covering various methods of thought.
29.10.2025 22:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For example, I was well into my 30's before I realized that "Character X thought *blah blah blah*" wasn't just a literary tool for the reader or the character subvocalizing.
29.10.2025 22:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's always interesting to see how people react when they learn I think with #aphantasia (no 'mind's eye") *and* #anaduralia (no inner voice).
The former slight confused them, but they generally get it.
The latter absolutely throws people for a loop & triggers a TON of questions π
It's that time again! Come on out to @legendcomicscoffee.bsky.social as we continue The Pit in the "Seven Dooms for Sandpoint", @paizo.com's 200th adventure path for #pathfinder2e.
As always, actively playing is not mandatory. You're welcome to ask questions or even just watch & listen!
After a week near 80Β°, we're out in Section 121 trying to start warm in the high 50s. The strong winds really make it feel cold...
Go @unionomaha.bsky.social!
My thoughts were immediately trolls & golems.
18.10.2025 23:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0With all the deportation issues going on, it's important to remember that the US has been here before in the 1950's. It might seem like ancient history, but that is within the lifespan of our older residents.
History doesn't always repeat itself, but it often rhymes.

Come home join us at 2 pm CT at @legendcomicscoffee.bsky.social for this fortnight's #Pathfinder2e game! Our adventurers continue their exploration of The Pit in @paizo.com's "Seven Dooms for Sandpoint".

Even though I'm a "holiday curmudgeon", I think fall is a GREAT time for cooking.
This weekend, we made pumpkin beef stew!
Bonus, there was also enough filling for the dogs to get pumpkin ice cubes!
Ok, *this* makes me excited... These tickets are usually in the $35 range.

It's been a minute since I've saw 1 player get back-to-back cards so fast.

We can firmly establish that Virgil the #APBT is *not* a camping dog. He only left his tent bed for food, potties, & campfire snacks.
After getting home, he immediately grabbed his emotional support stuffy & snuggled into a pile of blankets for the rest of the weekend.
Managed to get a nice weekend escape with the dogs at Hitchcock Nature Center.

We had another great @smart-union.bsky.social, #Local3, outing this weekend!
Thanks to Union Sportsmen's Alliance for putting together a great day of "All inclusive" clay shooting.
Let's not forget, he was originally (illegally) deported less than 6 months ago.
Combined with everything else, this Administration is trying to "flood the zone" so we can't focus on any one issue for more than a few days.
TBF, France has a history of "permanently removing" elitist-focused leaders.
Just as an outsider, there appears to be much more of a collective/union-like mindset than exists in other countries.
So today my boss actually visited the job site.
While getting him caught up, he said, in passing, "I just want you to know, all your hard work *IS* going unnoticed..." π³
He corrected himself a few seconds later once he heard his own words. π€¦
Sadly, there will be no #Pathfinder2e this week at @legendcomicscoffee.bsky.social due to my being sick. π·
Next session will be 30 Aug π²
Just from memory, I *think* that is exactly what the flea/tick meds do for dogs like "NexGard". Rather than preventing a particular pathogen, it gives the dog a blood-born chemical that is toxic to ticks (within a relatively short timeframe).
Again this is a vast simplification & just from memory.
Important question: I see in the FAQ that shuttles are not provided, but does it include airfare?

Also, pretty much every physical experiment starts as a thought experiment.
I am in no way an expert in FUTA/SUTA, but I'm pretty sure the employer pays into the unemployment system in most states; not the employee.
I do know that when you file, the employer has to respond with various info & can even file an appeal.
