The job of these NFM features? Hold back stormwater, store it temporarily, & release it slowly to ease downstream flooding. It won’t be crystal-clear, but storing runoff brings real ecological value for species that thrive in these conditions. #FloodResilience #WorkingWithNature

💧 Wetlands with jobs! Our Finmere NFM project shows nature working for people & wildlife. We built a flood-water retaining bund & attenuation pond to reduce flood risk, funded by the EA & built by JJ Brooks Ltd.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at our Open House on the Chalgrove Brook. Two years on, the fish bypass channel is thriving with wildlife. Guests enjoyed a Riverfly demo and discovering the stream’s aquatic life.
