Miss Major Griffin-Gracy passed away today according to the House of GG. She was a veteran of the Stonewall rebellion and a lifelong organizer for the safety and dignity of trans people, sex workers, and the incarcerated. She came from the same generation and milieu as Marsha and Sylvia. She was 78.

This crow started the fight and ended it, too. Twice. • Stoic crow on skull: Just calmly standing on a human skull like it’s a birdhouse. • Crow holding scrolls: Ostensibly scholarly, but who are they fooling? Those scrolls hold ancient curses, lists of poisons, and notes on where to hide the bodies. (Maybe I'm projecting.) • Zombie crow: Skeleton with a glowing red eye, clutching a bone. Died mad about it. Still mad about it. Crows hold grudges for 17 years. Oddly specific, yeah? Speculation: that's the lifespan of the longest-lived crow in the study. • Crow stabbing a knife into the ground. Storytime! As a teenager, I was internet-friends with a crow furry. (No DMs. I'm not interested in naming names or gossiping.) They once wrote a short piece on crows. The phrase "stabby beak" is forever lodged in my memory. And now there's a weird punk lyric stuck in my head: "I wanna pierce my brain!" • Knife and feathers: A dagger adorned with crow feathers. No crow is present, but one was definitely involved. • Small skulls (x3): Assorted tiny human-like skulls scattered around like decorations or snacks. Nom nom. • “PERISH” label: Red background, white letters. A mission statement. As I've mentioned, crows are known for many things, but subtlety isn't one of them.
