But they studied hard for a citizenship exam which many native-born Americans would not be able to pass.

The image displays the cover of a book titled "The Girl from Greenwich Street" by Lauren Willig. The cover features a rainy evening scene with a central focus on a warmly lit window casting a yellow glow through a grid-like frame. Surrounding the window is a textured dark blue wall, which creates a feeling of contrast and depth. The book title is written in large, cursive white letters across the top and middle of the cover. Additional details about the theme of the novel are printed on the right side in yellow text. A quote from another author is positioned below the image of the window, printed in white on the left. The authorβs name is prominently displayed at the bottom in white, capitalized letters.
The Girl From Greenwich Street by Lauren Willig. Itβs historical fiction about the first murder trial in the US. Willig conducted two years of research (masters in history, also a lawyer) before writing it. Enjoying it a lot!
