That would be the abolition of the asylum system. Request *after entry* is definitional to asylum. A request outside of the country is the refugee program.

I get what you’re saying but the system was built to be used this way. For instance, CBP has long maintained an understanding of “border” that means Lake Michigan is the “border” and they can operate within 100 miles of that.

That and we already have the refugee program, which is separate from asylum and is applied for outside of the country.

I did see a video alleging the incident. You can’t see the alleged shooter/vehicle but it looks like someone probably shot into the air a few blocks away. The agents were not at 25/kedzie (maybe a few blocks east) and had a pretty delayed, non urgent response.
