That's pretty wild

Big news for the #NixOS ecosystem: #AWS is making a 2025 commitment to cover the full cost of hosting [https://cache.nixos.org](cache.nixos.org) ๐งก
This critical piece of infra just got some more stabilityโthanks to their support.

I was talking about that feature suggesting similar existing issues to prevent duplications.
Sorry if my word wasn't clear.
- Had to write simple web interface for RAG chatapp
- Dump some @htmx.org
- Mission complete without touching single line of javascript
I could achieve same by asking AI agents to write some next.js app for me, but by knowing what I need and writing that by myself, I end up with cleaner solution.
Today was the first day I tried @typst.app. It feels way better than using M$ Word or Apple Pages.
Pretty loving it. Only if it has better link system, I might even use this for my PKM's markup language.
#typst
I still have no idea why we still don't have smarter issue indexer in the age of AI.
That feature stackoverflow had since years ago.
That will help both contributors and maintainers a lot.
AIs are used in completely wrong ways these days.
Naver Cloud Platform
Today was my first day at #naver-cloud.
This is my first time working at a company--actually, it's my first part-time job ever.
Huge opportunity to learn a lot!

Early Access Federation for Self-Hosters February 22, 2024
"bluesky/atproto isn't decentralized!!"
PDS federation only got opened up a little more than a year ago..
the first mostly full back-fill alt appview only got released like a month ago..
it isn't like the bsky team has a switch they flip to suddenly make everything federated and decentralized
@tangled.sh is a really interesting project ngl.
- #atproto
- #github alternative
- built with #jj-vcs in mind (which is still compatible with #git)
- #golang
- #htmx and pure html/template pkg for UI
- #nix
It's so based and exactly match up with my current interests. Unbelievable.
Oh so I can get all existing DIDs from PLC and check for my custom lexicon from every PDS if I want to backfill the appview after longer than 24h of downtime.
Thank you for guiding me. That was helpful.
Hmmm so I need to implement the backfill functionality.
How would that work. ๐ค
Like there are A LOT of users with different PDS in atmosphere.
Is this where PLC dictionary comes into play?
I think I'm still missing some parts in atproto architecture.
I'm talking about appviews in general. Though I found that tangled's appview doesn't sync missing informations. I'm pretty sure bluesky's appview do this
(Loading data directly from PDS instead of jetstream).
Does anyone have good example about how to keep the appview up to date from PDS/relay/appview outage?
How to keep appview DB sync for data created before appview started listening from jetstream?
I'm looking for simple example like statusphere in official doc.
#atproto #appview

09.07.2025 07:38 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0In general I'd welcome new changes on UI.
If they constantly make subtle changes giving some refresh while making everything uniform and easy to interact, that's a good thing.
But yeah, that volume button position is really a change for the sake of change.
Honestly don't hate the overall new design but can't understand why they moved the volume button to right.
Do they just got bored with previous design and choose to do something different with no reason?
It reminds me of the new #NothingPhone (3) design.
Youtube's new UI where autoplay toggle UI isn't centered with its hover background.
#google couldn't even center a div in the new #youtube UI.
09.07.2025 07:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Doesnโt pixiv has AI filter? Is it not working?
idk. havenโt accessed pixiv for a while.
My current roadmap:
1. make @tangled.sh actually usable (so many missing features rn)
2. move most of my wip projects there
3. continue building #norg ecosystem (CST parser is near complete)
Oh, thatโs nice. Thank you for that information.

04.07.2025 07:28 โ ๐ 20 ๐ 45 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0I think this will take some time as current implementation of DMs is just temporary solution.
It's not decentralized yet. So I expect they will come with all the missing features later with actual atproto-based DM.
According to their 2025 roadmap, I think it won't take that long.
