This is supposed to be a complementary measure to the EU Migration and Asylum Pact, which Ireland did opt into, so I'm not surprised that they're interested in this too at all.

In a perfect world, Mirror's crime reporters would have to publicly explain why they think ethnicity of alleged perpetrators of crime is relevant to what had happened.

Staggering difference in coverage of the incident in Citywest, between RTE and Mirror. Which do you believe? Bearing in mind RTE downright refused to name Kitty Holland in connection with the Ryan Casey defamation settlement this summer (but Mirror did).

If this cruel old man approves of your reporting, you need to be doing a lot of soul-searching.

And it's not like rural areas get well served by this, it's never for stuff like reducing dereliction, it's always nonsense like blood sports, and letting people continue to pollute our drinking water or letting people build holiday homes everywhere. It's so frustrsting
