Oh no, Kelly! You ruined the workplace!
06.11.2025 15:31 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0They don't want to understand what is happening, but to shape it.
05.11.2025 23:48 β π 54 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0Why did you think it was appropriate to talk about a trans child having no experience of life as a cis adult? Would you apply the same standard to a gay child? Do you recognise that "how do you know you're gay if you haven't tried being straight" is homophobic? Why would you apply that logic to us?
04.11.2025 11:07 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Why were trans people and experts in our care considered too biased to participate, but multiple members of SEGM were not? If relevant expertise was a source of bias, why was Kaltiala involved? Why are the identities of most contributors still secret? How can we trust such a clearly biased process?
04.11.2025 10:59 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why is psychotherapy the first line of treatment for gender dysphoria despite no evidence whatsoever of efficacy? Why is low quality, conflicting evidence that it *may* help with depression sufficient to recommend it for all patients, when higher quality, consistent evidence for PBs/HRT is not?
04.11.2025 10:53 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0She doesn't even think her actual positions are wrong! Just her attempts to reach out to the people who hate us and want us dead.
01.11.2025 17:53 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I also feel like "more extreme on democracy and the rule of law" is actually the key issue here? If they get their way on those, none of their other stated positions matters a damn, because they can do whatever the hell they like.
28.10.2025 17:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0On the contrary, Ash Regan absolutely has thought that through:
27.10.2025 21:35 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0tbf, that's just you counting mayo 24 times.
25.10.2025 22:31 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Congratulations on somehow finding a way to be even more exhausting and obnoxious than the guys Moira was talking about.
25.10.2025 17:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I mean, it's not like they were planning on reading it.
24.10.2025 12:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It does not sound like that at all, actually! Hope that helps.
22.10.2025 18:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That guy's so fucking slimy.
22.10.2025 14:55 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I would really like a day when it wasn't perfect to repost it, tbh.
21.10.2025 13:00 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The answer to [8] reads like a sick joke now.
21.10.2025 12:51 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I actually agree that it'd make a great story in the vein of Mr Bates, but I'm guessing their angle might be just a little bit different to my own.
21.10.2025 08:45 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0good raccoon
20.10.2025 13:34 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Sure, you've heard from human rights experts, but have you considered the professional bigot perspective?
18.10.2025 18:33 β π 45 π 5 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, absolutely. Including the previous decisions in the FWS case from the Scottish Court of Session, both of which correctly read parliament's intent and interpreted the Equality Act and the GRA accordingly. Both are far more clearly, coherently argued than the supreme court judgment.
17.10.2025 14:57 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0It's an excellent judgment, but also immensely frustrating to read. The judge displays the clear understanding of the purpose of the GRA and the meaning of Goodwin that was entirely absent from the FWS ruling. This is what a good faith attempt to engage with parliament's clear intent looks like.
17.10.2025 13:08 β π 15 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0The EHRC's intervention actually argued that the Equality Act as written should be interpreted as trans inclusive. They also spent a large chunk of it complaining that it should be written differently, because of course they did, but they didn't agree with Sex Matters on the key question.
17.10.2025 11:50 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I solve this problem by having no useful skills at all.
Seriously, though: it's ok to put yourself first. Take care of yourself. I'm sure you'd give the same advice to someone else in the same position.
There hasn't been a day in the past six months when I haven't spent a substantial amount of time thinking about that fucking farce of a judgment. And I don't even work in the field, so I shudder to think what it's doing to you. Hang in there. We're going to win in the end.
16.10.2025 22:42 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This is a) terrible, and b) hugely better than the UK. Not sure what the % is over here - @hleehurley.com probably has a rough idea, at least - but we would kill for fully 30% of all stories about trans rights quoting trans people. And 30% is abysmal! It ought to be 100%!
16.10.2025 22:40 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's actually even worse than that. According to the supreme court, the GRA never applied to the precursor to the Equality Act, the Sex Discrimination Act of 1975. They've retrospectively removed large parts of the recognition conferred by a GRC all the way back to the passage of the GRA in 2004.
16.10.2025 17:27 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This can't be right. I was told trans people were comfortably middle class with luxury beliefs.
16.10.2025 16:00 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That's the Heterodox part!
15.10.2025 21:50 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Too many to mention, but @katymontgomerie.com helped me find the courage to come out to my partner.
15.10.2025 19:30 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Indeed. Given SCUK's expansive reading of s9.3 of the GRA, even the statute enacted with the explicit goal of compliance with Goodwin fails to actually comply with Goodwin.
One might argue that this is a point they should have considered in interpreting said statute, but I'm sure they know best...
Good and/or bad news! He *is* referring to the UK!
