None at all in Falkirk and only this week in Filmhouse which is too short notice for me!
11.02.2026 11:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Really enjoying listening to this book (at the day job) !

Planning to see the second one this week! Quite sad about the limited release of No Other Choice, I hope it will at least get streamed...
08.02.2026 20:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0no ethical bla bla under blah de blah whatever but I do think if you are in a professionalized field in the global north you have to maintain some level of personal autonomy so that you can have an actual line, things you won't swallow your distaste for and do, even if you may be rewarded for them

We've got a really fun episode this week; corporate survival horror-comedy SEND HELP โ๏ธ๐ด๐ฉธ and indie dark comedy TWINLESS ๐โโ๏ธ๐

TWINLESS is in UK & Irish cinemas 6 February. For cinemas visit: bit.ly/m/twinlessfilm / PARK CIRCUS
A mini illustration of a spectral folkloric dog 'black shuck'. The dog is padding down a hillside in a graveyard, it's breath fogging in the air as rain falls.
A large bat inspired character perched on a flaming branch. Fire and ash flows upwards from the characters mane, antlers and tail. It brings rebirth in the rain
A side profile of a purple, pink and white griffin with blood on it's beak. It's mouth is ajar and a glowing eye pierces the viewer.
A coloured sketch of a colourful griffin standing on their hind legs. Wings spread out behind them as they stand ready to face whatever's coming. Their pelt and fur are a range of hues from white, pinks, purples and peach.
I'm looking for more work this month!
You can find the different options and prices here. Happy to discuss ideas/concepts you have :) ๐บ

Hey #writers, who'd be up for doing a workshop to raise some funds for Minnesota charities? @alexpenname.bsky.social and I are putting something together.
Repost and spread the word, please!
Woohoo! Very exciting.
22.01.2026 15:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0There's a recent queer graphic novel adaptation from @knighterrantpress.bsky.social! Can't remember if Diana Wynne Jones' FIRE AND HEMLOCK is how I first encountered it, but the graphic novel suggests that there's still some life in the old tale!

Ahoy folks, it's SFINCS O'clock, and this is Nils with a new review.
These are my thoughts on Sunbathers, by @lindzmcleod.bsky.social
This is a bleak but worthwhile read, and while it hit me hard, I'm glad I read it.

01.12.2025 10:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0"I spent a while trying to figure out how to classify An Honour & a Privilege. Viewed through one lens it might not seem an important question: classification is mostly helpful for shelving decisions. But genre also dictates how one reads a thing. Whether you think of this book as an anthology (many authors), a collection (one common author), or a craft book (the reflective duets) may affect your perception of the whole. I struggle to compare this work to any of those three genres. The project in front of you reveals more about its craft than other anthologies. It's more authentically connected to strong exemplar material than other craft books. It's more heteroglossic than any collection I recall. The best way to think of An Honour & a Privilege may be to regard it as a genre all its own, one which depends significantly on its many interconnections, one which marks both an occasion and an invitation, one which offers us both a testimony as to what can be done together and a guide on how to do it." From the Foreword by Dr. Graham Robert Scott. The cover of the book is a vintage, slightly foxy red, with white font beside a large black and white ampersand.
If you have a writer in your life and you'd like them to know that you care about their ambitions, may I suggest ordering a copy of my collaborative craft anthology, An Honour And A Privilege, as a Christmas present? (trust me, you'll get the MOST brownie points)
