πŸ“’ Remember when you read stuff like this:
www.transport.gov.scot/news/20-mill...
The Bus Partnership Fund was Β£500 million.
ScotGov cancelled it after spending <Β£30m, much of it on project development.
Then announced a Β£10m Bus Infrastructure Fund, now increased to Β£20m.

Where's the other Β£450m?

This is how Living Streets Edinburgh calculate the roads capital spending plans against the 'sustainable transport hierarchy'. Next Year compared to this Year.

Hopefully councillors will increase spending on everyday 'walking and wheeling' at the Transport Committee Meeting this Thursday.

The Edinburgh Council roads budget is on the agenda for Transport and Environment Committee 3rd April Item 8.1 : bit.ly/427J1Rm
It seems roads (carriageway) spending will rise by a fifth - but no increase for pavements (footways).
If you don’t think this is good enough, please tell your councillor!

Who is public transport for? For everybody - young, old, disabled, vulnerable, wheelchair users, people pushing buggies, carrying heavy shopping , luggage etc., NOT just the young & fit who can easily walk 400m between stops!

Yes, as efficiently as possible, to persuade folk to leave cars at home. But not to promote efficiency’ over accessibility, thus excluding about 50% of the population!!

What is public transport for? To take the widest range of people to where they need/want to go-NOT just to travel at the fastest rate possible between distant points.
