A smiling Black man standing in the sunshine. He is wearing a navy velvet blazer and a checked shirt. He uses a crutch. Behind him there is a brightly coloured wall mural. Under the picture the words 'recruiting now' are written in bold black text on orange tape. Matching orange arrows point to the man and words. The image has a lurid yellow-green background.

Some speed and red light cameras in Edinburgh have been ‘bagged’ for more than five years. This doesn't deter and detect illegal traffic offences ?
You can download a list of bagged speed cameras in Edinburgh from our recent FOI request. Click on this link to our website:-

Signs saying Harrison Road closed taking up majority of pavement width on Slateford Road. This is very close to a bus stop on a fast main road.

The three sides of the Edinburgh City Chambers around an open space with a statue.
Busy streets require wider pavements. How to manage high flow pedestrian streets is a topic in the "Business Bulletin" at Edinburgh's Transport and Environment Committee on Thursday 11/9. We've sent a written deputation with concerns and urge Councillors to ask officers to re-consider.

A birds-eye view illustration of the redesigned Polwarth junction showing how the area will be transformed from a roundabout to a T-junction. There are two options for the Merchiston ave crossings. Option 1 has a pedestrian refuge Island whole option 2 has a third loading bay and dropped kerb crossing point.
Polwarth Gardens looking east - artist's impression of the upgraded zebra crossing which is wider and located closer to the junction. Pavements are widened and there are planters and the edge of a designated loading bay.
Reminder! You can still review the designs for a new Polwarth junction and share your views by 21 September .
Let the council know if you support the overall changes, which design option you prefer and why, and if you have any other thoughts or concerns.

Wheelchair being driven around an obstacle course
Wheelchair obstacle course, with curvy chalk lines, road cones, and a ramp in the distance. Person sitting in a wheelchair and person pushing a wheelchair.
It was great to visit Equal Footing Porty's obstacle course at the Big Beach Busk, Portobello, Edinburgh. Going round the course helped the able bodied gain insight into what travel is like for a wheelchair user. It highlighted why the work to survey dropped kerbs in Portobello is so important.
