Singing lessons are so humbling. Like. here is an aspect of the human experience i dont feel comfortable doing. And now im going to try really hard and reveal how bad I really am and i cant duck out to a lower octave halfway through. In front of an expert.

Me too! We are both "kinda spacey" (Slang for someone who often spaces out).

This is correct, but usually spacing out implies she should be focusing on something else, like work or a conversation.

In this sense, ぼんやりしてもいい may translate better to

"Sometimes, she needs time to let her mind wander." or "Sometimes she needs time alone with her thoughts."

Correct, but "put off" is a very casual phrase. Because you are talking about your teacher "postponed" feels more natural.

Also, "put off" can also mean something like 渋る, so be careful! example: ”I was put off by my new girlfriend arriving to dinner late” ~新彼女が夕飯に遅くなりたからちょっと渋りなった

both are correct. In my dialect, around feels more natural, but this can be different for other dialects.

"i'm doing about a thousand squats now" sounds like he is squatting while talking, but "about" makes it sound more indirect.

If he is, then I would say "I'm doing one thousand squats!" Because he is currently in the process of achieving 1000 squats.

In English, the phrasing would be more direct
