Agree to disagree. But I wouldnβt be wasting money because we donβt have a back up for a few weeks unless itβs a long term target.

02.02.2025 13:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think what youβd get on the market though isnβt going to be an upgrade on what we have at the moment. Theres doubts over Broja long term. I wouldnβt entertain an option on him. But Iβd rather gamble on him in six weeks than another available loanee striker.
02.02.2025 10:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0My view though is Chermiti will be back in 3-4. Broja about 6. DCL with a bit of fortune for nor long after the international break. Weβre now essentially safe. Iβd be reluctant to throw money at more loans. Theyβre very uneconomical. A 2m loan fee for 6 months is a 10m player on the PSR books.
02.02.2025 09:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Agree. If he were available, even with a City buy back that gives us a decent profit, with the position weβre in now after them three wins, Iβd be all over it. Be a statement of intent tor the future pathway of the club
02.02.2025 09:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I would too. Broja mooted to be about 6 weeks. One of them is cup weekend. At the end of March international breakβ¦. Itβs not ideal, but Iβd stick unless there is someone available who is a long standing target.
02.02.2025 09:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do we though if that means being stuck with a player we donβt really want for 18 months?
02.02.2025 09:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Maybe. But Iβd question it more if Tottenham, West Ham, Leicester etc had bought players.
I just think city are a totally different context to Everton.
City are a financial juggernaut club mate and are a destination club for players.
26.01.2025 20:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Potentially. But heβs also harder to replace. OβBrien is a step down. Tarkowski I think is on the decline, and every other CB we have is off.
20.01.2025 10:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I donβt think at his best we would attract better. But if you look at other goalkeepers. Henderson, Leno and Pope, say. The most expensive there is Henderson. 15m quid. Half the price of Pickford. Is the drop off massive if you could reinvest the excess to improve in front?
20.01.2025 06:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think Pickford is very good at his best. He can be unpredictable rather than unreliable. My point is as a team dropping to a good goalkeeper would enable us to invest more on positions where the drop off from v good to competent is much bigger. Say central mid or wing. Some may disagree
20.01.2025 06:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think the team are low on confidence arenβt they? Theyβre dealing with the impact of Villa and Bournemouth still. They lost their outball without Ndiaye and Lindstrom. Pickford doesnβt help at times like this either. With so many defenders on the pitch retaining and controlling the ball was harder
19.01.2025 18:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not a problem, no. But if there was an offer- and I donβt think there will be myself at a price Everton would look for- I donβt think itβs ridiculous. Pickford and goalkeepers in general arenβt irreplaceable like a Lukaku was. It would generate a lot of headroom for a rebuild. He also makes errors
19.01.2025 17:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I agree. People talk a lot about sellable players, PSR and all. Money to rebuild.
A solid, if unspectacular keeper isnβt ridiculously hard to find. Also at a decent budget. If someone gave us a good offer- 40m plus- for a player with limited book value- itβd be worth considering
Interesting what we do with Doucoure if we stay up. His best qualities are really valuable and laudable. His worst downright crippling. Heβs also on a fortune and we have so few under contractβ¦. Big call by all #efc
19.01.2025 16:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah. Heβs last player you need at times
19.01.2025 16:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I think itβs pretty clear from Bainesβ demeanour that he doesnβt want to be a manager. My view on him is that he seems happy coaching. Keeping him in the game but also allowing the freedom of retirement.
12.01.2025 09:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I really think he wouldnβt come in as an Interim. Heβs just recently won a European trophy. West Hamβs poor form seems to vindicate his abilities. Maybe, maybe if Bill was still here. But I donβt see it now
05.01.2025 21:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I donβt think there is a manager who takes a job at Everton for 6 months. Yeah United did it with Rangnick, but theyβre reputationally one if the biggest in world football
05.01.2025 21:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve always been pro-Dyche, but theyβre heading down with him. They have to change now and give the fans and players some hope.
04.01.2025 16:58 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Donβt think itβs overly defeatist to say weβre pretty much nailed onto lose is it?
03.01.2025 17:10 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That isnβt to say that I donβt think Dycheβs comments are anything other than totally arrogant ramblings
03.01.2025 16:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I donβt think coaching is a domain of a DoF. Whilst the role ie important, I think if youβre taking that off a manager itβs a step too far. Thatβs the managerβs domain
03.01.2025 16:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Heβll go to a top, top team
02.01.2025 18:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Without meaning to go fully Joey Barton here, the optics of a knighthood for Southgate really poor and indicative of why England will struggle to win anything. Nice bloke, deserved some recognition, but he ultimately blew some of the best opportunities England have ever been in #southgate
31.12.2024 11:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Probably Rooney finished in management. Donβt think there will be many takers for him at a level heβd want to be at.
31.12.2024 10:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you circle that often youβre more than likely to drop. If not you thank your lucky stars.
If Dyche thinks that our best way of playing is to surrender possession, play the percentage and set piece against everyone at home until May, because itβs his strong suit, he should.
I think Iβm somewhere between you and them in fairness. I think another person could get more from them. But itβs a risk and a third person could relegate them. Then thereβs the unenviable task of the rebuild and needing to keep them up next yearβ¦ got to be strategic here
29.12.2024 21:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think they massively underperformed under Gerrard though. I think we are slightly underperforming- 5/6 points- but we arenβt very good.
29.12.2024 21:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I think another manager gets more out of them. But equally another may absolutely sink us. And I donβt think Dyche and Coleman- letβs not underestimate his role-takes us down. But I remain to be convinced with who else is out there. Itβs such a gamble. My issue isnβt today. Itβs Bβmouth and Bβford
