01.06.2025 01:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Either way; these misguided people suck. Paul's writings (which forbid many things the Christ was silent on), suck. And the depth of anti-christlikeness the church has become, sucks. I became a kinder, more loving & more accepting person when I left the church.
01.06.2025 01:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That 1 verse says, "God as destined some to accept Salvation & some not to."
The NLB, which had 90 biblical scholars working on it says,
"God offers salvation to every1 through Christ, but he knows all along who will accept it & who won't."
Entirely different idea from the first translation.
And that whole predestination thing is based on ONE verse of scripture in Paul's writings. Which I discount Paul because he never was in the presence of Christ and also because modern churches treat his teachings as if they were as important as those of Christ.
The Christ was silent on many things.
Ex-vangelical here.
The churches I was in believed that we were to evangelize, because those who didn't accept the sacrifice of Christ would be damned to an eternity in Hell, but as long as they drew breath, they were human and eligible for salvation.
Good day to remember that DOGE has already lost the US government at least half a trillion dollars this year alone. And likely more.
