The stock market is a barometer of how things are going, but only for the wealthiest 10-15% of the country.

And yet, no one asks Republicans how they will pay for tax cuts or military spending or paramilitaries the way they ask how Democrats will pay for reducing child poverty or student loan debt relief.

No matter what Republicans do, they are still treated as "deficit hawks":

EPA to repeal its own conclusion that greenhouse gases warm the planet and threaten health Known as the endangerment finding, the decision is the legal framework that allows the EPA to regulate emissions. Its reversal could upend many climate change policies.

"...the EPA said the endangerment finding had overstated the risk of heat waves, projected more potential warming than has taken place and discounted the benefits of increases to carbon pollution... Prominent science groups have disputed those arguments."

Ohio Republicans continue their despicable attacks on public education, leaving no question as to their ultimate goal: make all education private.

Nature's 'engine is grinding to a halt' as climate change gains pace, says study Many ecologists hypothesize that, as global warming accelerates, change in nature must speed up. They assume that as temperatures rise and climatic zones shift, species will face local extinction and ...

"Contrary to the expectation that external climate forces would drive faster change, the data revealed that turnover over 1–5-year periods tended to become slower. This slowdown was consistent across diverse environments such as terrestrial bird communities or the seabed."

It's weird how the "Don't Tread on Me" crowd has no problem with the federal govt demanding people's papers on the street, violently rounding them up, & then sending them to detention centers thousands of miles away without court order or representation as long as those people don't look like them.

It's just posting, yeah, but I do it under my real name and for that I've been sued, had people try to get me fired, received death threats, etc.

If you can't even put your name behind your words, please help yourself to a piping hot mug of shut the fuck up.

Would you have preferred core MAGA Republicans in those seats instead?

Because in some races, those are the only options we get: (a) meh, and (b) awful.

And throwing away your vote on some candidate who literally has no chance of winning is effectively the same as not voting at all.

One way - likely the only way - Democrats and liberals need to act more like Republicans and conservatives is in being willing to vote for "good enough" candidates who can win versus voting for a fringe candidate who matches up better with their personal philosophy but who has no chance of winning.

Economists say Ohio's education system doesn't match employer demands β€’ Ohio Capital Journal Economists said Ohio schools aren't meeting employers' needs. Since 2011, Republican leaders have plowed billions into charter schools.

"Since Republican John Kasich became governor in 2011, Ohio has diverted billions from traditional public schools. Ranked 5th-best in the nation in K-12 education the year before Kasich took office, Ohio schools slid to 21st by 2023."

Elon Musk claims Christopher Nolan has lost β€˜integrity’ over The Odyssey casting Lupita Nyong’o is reportedly set to play Helen of Troy in Nolan’s upcoming adaptation of Homer’s epic poem

The woke scolds are trying to make this about racism. But Musk is right. It's about historical and scientific integrity. When the God of Thunder disguises himself as a swan to seduce and fuck a queen and the resulting baby hatches from an egg, *of course* the baby will be white. It's just science.

Trump Administration Prepares for Warsh Fed Chair Nomination The Trump administration is preparing for the president to nominate Kevin Warsh to be the next Federal Reserve chair, according to people familiar with the matter.

LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT: Kevin Warshβ€”expected to be Trump's Fed chair pickβ€”is the son-in-law of Trump donor Ronald Lauder (billionaire EstΓ©e Lauder heir), who convinced Trump in 2018 of the need to annex Greenland (and then invested heavily there), and who benefits from the Ukraine rare-earth deal?

If you value living in a representative democracy where the government is of, by, and for the people;

If you value the individual rights afforded by our Constitution;

If you value the rule of law and it applying to everyone,

You simply cannot support Trump's policies and practices.
