Starfleet Academy is explicitly showing
(1) what happens when scarcity is reintroduced into a post scarcity society
(2) how that can lead to people doing things that they deeply regret
(3) how to get back to the utopia lost and rebuild after tragedy
Which are all things we should be focused on now.

I still think there's nothing funnier in this world than calling AOS Spock TOS Spock's "homunculus"
