G is THE most awkward chord (yet). If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this easier, I’m all ears. I’ve just been going back and forth between C and G over and over and over. It’s easier than it was, but it still takes way too long to get into position.

Artist Statement from the model: About a year ago I started making a quilt out of second hand camo clothing. If you're wondering,"ew, why?" I don't blame you! It's a very ugly blanket. The project symbolized the complicated relationship I have with gender roles and labor as well as clothing and being perceived. We're told sewing is feminine, manual labor is masculine. I've done lots of both. Clothing in workplaces often has intense gender expectations. l've dressed to the extreme ends of both. I love this photo because it captures the feeling of hiding yourself away to blend in and feel "safer"

Thank you! It was part of the first series I did maybe 7 -8 years ago. It was so fun! The limitations were:
-using foam insulation board as the canvas
-some kind of added texture (plaster cloth, paper pulp etc)
-some kind of addition on top of just paint (sticks, fabric, wire, etc)
-neutral palette

Aaaand…we already have a congressman talking about deportation for a US citizen just for stringing words together in a way he didn’t like.
