Hmm, maybe I misunderstood civics but AFAIK, the judicial branch exercising checks and balances over a rogue executive branch is foundational to U.S. democracy. And that is what Immergut just did, swiftly and decisively.

We need more moderates and conservatives standing by rule of law in this country at this critical moment.

Came across this earlier today as a Portlander walked their dog (cute) near the 50th & Division Capes & Crapes board game cafe, which is, miraculously, still standing.

Yet again, the Trump administration is instigating conflict so they can sell their false narrative about our city. But the facts on the ground have not changed. Trump’s plan to send in the National Guard to Portland was unlawful yesterday, and it is unlawful today.

The public cannot stay silent in the face of such reckless and authoritarian conduct by the President of the United States.

After a federal court blocked his attempt to federalize the Oregon National Guard, Donald Trump is deploying 300 California National Guard personnel into Oregon. They are on their way there now.

We are taking this fight back to court.

Unlikely, but we can hope.

I trust NGOs to be more impartial when it comes to observing protest. I don't trust PPB who have repeatedly sided with in-migrating right-wing agitators at the expense of the public health and safety of the people of Portland.

But maybe Immergut trusts cops, not NGOs. 🤷🏼
