We need a public debate on this issue also among our neighbours around the Baltic to find the political will to change the current dysfunctional system.

Not so anymore, as the rate of sea level rise will nullify land rise for the rest of the century. For large portions of our European coasts though, prospects are much bleaker.

If you think slowing or stopping #climate change is too expensive, you have it backwards.
Failing to slow or stop #climatechange is what's expensive.

Atlantic herring is one of the most abundant fishes in the world. In two new studies, we show that some herring in the Baltic Sea have become fish eaters. These piscivorous herring are genetically unique, grow fast, and play an important role in regulating stickleback populations.
