Dear DHS: “Demonization” is Trump calling immigrants “vermin,” Muslims “terrorists,” Mexicans “rapists,”& Trans folks “extremists.”

Condemning that demonization is free speech—as enshrined in our Constitution.

My advice? Stop demonizing people & people won’t call you demonic. Quite simple really.

Excellent book!

Stopped in Dickinson, ND so that I can go to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the morning.

Had dinner at an upscale restaurant and have an early night in the hotel.

Day 4, Part 2 (7/22)

After leaving the Geographic Center of North America, I made my way back to I-94 and stoooed in Bismarck. Saw a sight or 2 and then got back in the road. Speed limit on I-94 in ND is 75.

Day 4 (July 22), Stop 1: the Geographic Center of North America

Temperature: 72° and overcast
Speed limit: 70

Traveling into ND for my next adventure tomorrow.

The picture of the sun in the horizon was taken at 837pm CST. It didn’t get dark until almost 10pm.

I loved the M&M store and the Crayola store. The Nickoledeon adventure took up one side of the mall, all 4 floors.

Pictures are attached. I can’t say I saw all of it but I saw a great deal.

Day 3 Part 2: Mall of America

OMG! I came, I saw, I’m done!

90% of it is a mall, just like any other mall. It was very light inside, being decorated with white tile and glass and it had a lot of the stores one would expect at most malls, however…

Major attractions for kids and adults alike.

I stayed at a hotel 1/2 mile from the store. This I why i was so determined to make it to MN last night.

Next stop is…

Day 3, part 1: Nadia Cakes Store.

Nadia Cakes is owned by author Abby Jimenez. When I was developing plans for this trip, a few friends helped come up with the idea to come north to Minneapolis and then go west so that I could come to Nadia Cakes, along with other stops I have planned.

I got stubborn and was determined to stop in Minnesota for the night. I am in Woodbury, MN.

My Odometer reached 200k miles

States traveled: OH, IN, IL, WI, MN

After getting my pizza, I drove by my maternal grandmother’s former home and my paternal grandparents former home. My grandparents are no longer with us.

I got back in the interstate and made it to Wisconsin. WI has excellent roads!

Traffic at the IN/IL border near Chicago is AWFUL and the roads are worse than SC.

While traveling to Chicago, I realized I could get pizza from a hole-in-the-wall restaurant my maternal family enjoys so I got pizza from Vito & Nicks.

Day 2: (7/20)

While driving, I realized I am in the state that gave us JD Vance. I tried to get past that.

Indiana has a lot of windmills. Indiana gave us Pete Buttigieg (yay) and Mike Pence. Again, I tried to forgive Indiana.

I have a reason I took this path. I have some exciting stops planned!

Tolls x3 on the WV Turnpike slow down traffic.

Because Ohio is on the farther side of Eastern Standard time, it was brighter, later in the evening.

Ohio is in EST.

Hotels cost more in the summer.

Day 1 (7/19)

I left my apartment for the last time around 10am, ran an errand, got a chiropractic adjustment, and had one last lunch with a friend.

I traveled from 1pm - 9pm and stopped somewhere in Ohio.

What I learned in Day 1:

Tunnels x 2 in southwest VA slow down traffic on I-77.

Very long story short, I will be a program specialist for a school district in Tacoma. I left on Saturday, 7/19.
