I used the phrase “queer community” in a work discussion and had some negative comments. All of them from straight white cis people.

This is my excuse to say that I have a picture of my grandfather next to Turing in their rowing club picture at King’s Cambridge. And my grandfather was much cuter at the age of c.20.

All of the evidence suggests that this mainly discriminates against non-conforming cis women, disproportionately lesbians and bisexual women. JKR is many things, but she’s no feminist.

😢 Truly one of those great figures. Time to go back to those Schubert recordings which my parents used to play all the time at home when I was young.
