That surprises me. As David Henig says, hardly an uncontroversial celebration but we were more interested in the penny (to pay for fireworks) than the guy. Watching the guy burn was shocking but thrilling (real clothes!) Didn’t understand significance.

We stuffed an old shirt & trousers with newspaper and put on go kart to make a guy (but not every year). Does anyone still do that?
