"HS has bigotry in it but at least gender was handled well-" in the og canon comic("beyond" canon spinoffs aside) no one is explicitly stated to be trans, but there is a character who's a sexpest incel man who targets children and pretends to have dysphoria (term explicitly used) to gain sympathy 🤨

DR 0 and 2 were written at the same time and both feature amnesiac villains turned protagonists. 0's becomes a mentor(?) for 2's and heavily projects onto him, convincing him in DR3 that whatever's best for them is best for him. I feel like not presuming a connection here would just be kind of silly

But ofc if one has never seen the subpar anime spinoff detailing said past. One would intuitively presume that the manipulative apocalypse planner with an infinitely talented escaped lab experiment under their wing would use him for his power. And not just be parasocial about it. But here we are

But I feel like the fact that, (as far as we know,) Junko's main use for Izuru was "project onto him & try to get him to gain emotional satisfaction from the despair of others, just as they try for themself" makes it a less of a straightforwardly biting retort than it sounds
