Maybe part of this too is dependent on the ability to have a tough conversation, perhaps about how politics directly and negatively impact me and my family. If this "friend" isn't even receptive to that, then they don't really even respect me enough to be a good friend.

I have republican friends, but they're not MAGA republican friends... If we don't start out agreeing that all people should be treated with dignity and respect, and that all people deserve to live in safety with their needs met, then that's a moral deal breaker for me.

In Milwaukee, a friend went in to change their birth certificate gender and the judge did it same day rather than setting the next court date.

I know it's relatively safe here but it meant a lot to see a prioritize trans folks safety over process
