industry of the size it is needs to change. It is fundamental an IT problem and the industry currently is just bolt on fixes rather than being fully integrated in delivering secure effective infrastructure.

Well, as especially as they'd go up first and then take a long time to come down.. But you are correct. I think we collectively need to reflect on the failings of the cyber security industry over the past 20 years and try and move in a better direction. Personally I think the fact it exists as an

I remember installing network management software there many (many) years ago just by Liverpool Street. I think that block has been knocked down now. The guy I was with (who I was supposed to be learning from) disappeared for a fag and reappeared a couple of hours later having been to the pub.

Amazing in the first sentence to say bullying is a form of dissembling, and then to follow that up with three baffling paragraphs about tribulations

Totally agree with this - of all the work I do, dealing with fraud is the most frustrating. Somehow it's pretty straightforward to get an APT campaign busted and taken down but doing anything about a fraud network, which is scamming members of the public, can be impossible.

IMH(and ignorable)O the problem for MoD since 2010 has been that no one wants to spend real money on useful things, so they've thrown (relatively) small amounts of cash at cyber on the promise of amazeballs results, and so we get repeated cyber command announcements. It's got AI this time though..

Hasn't this been announced several times already? Just another billion or so to make it work this time...

But maybe the AI powered cyber threats are doing it?

I was wondering about the next launch of new Glenn the other day and realised I hadn't seen any of your tweets for a while. This explains it.

I'm a bit skeptical having looked at the companies list - fsb(.)ru is on there. I doubt very much they are an Oracle customer, or ever were. There's also a 117 uk gov domains in there - more credible but surprised it's that widespread.

On the edge of a nice bit of London in 1998 I paid (I think) Β£360 a month for a room in a two bedroom flat (apartment). Was a nice apartment, sharing with one other. Got turfed out because the owner wanted to sell it. Internet tells me they're over half a mil now

The Gone World Inception meets True Detective in this science fiction …

If you like science fiction, detective noir, lovecraftian horror and well, other crazy stuff, then I can recommend The Gone World. I had no idea where it was going but couldn't put it down.

On my first trip to South Korea the team I was working with laughed at my pathetic broadband and mobile speeds, were amazed at the crudeness of European toilets and then out drank me. They were super friendly though.

Obviously as someone who has been doing this for more than those twenty years I should point out it's someone else's fault.

This seems to me the most salient point. The best defence is a good defence. I think the biggest failure really of the last twenty years has been the growth of the 'sticking plaster' security industry and the avoidance of building things that don't have vulnerabilities in the first place
