Totally agree with this - of all the work I do, dealing with fraud is the most frustrating. Somehow it's pretty straightforward to get an APT campaign busted and taken down but doing anything about a fraud network, which is scamming members of the public, can be impossible.

IMH(and ignorable)O the problem for MoD since 2010 has been that no one wants to spend real money on useful things, so they've thrown (relatively) small amounts of cash at cyber on the promise of amazeballs results, and so we get repeated cyber command announcements. It's got AI this time though..

Hasn't this been announced several times already? Just another billion or so to make it work this time...

I'm a bit skeptical having looked at the companies list - fsb(.)ru is on there. I doubt very much they are an Oracle customer, or ever were. There's also a 117 uk gov domains in there - more credible but surprised it's that widespread.

This seems to me the most salient point. The best defence is a good defence. I think the biggest failure really of the last twenty years has been the growth of the 'sticking plaster' security industry and the avoidance of building things that don't have vulnerabilities in the first place
