yep, I use that and Fluff Busting - between them they help a lot. Especially blocking by text string: add "sponsored" to the text field, for starters

the FB Purity/Fluff Busting extensions let you block by text string, so I've got "sponsored" blocked, which catches most of them, and when I see ads in the browser I ruthlessly hide them, which also seems to reduce the torrent a bit

yeah - this place is by no means perfect but I'm glad it exists for keeping those connections.

Saw a friend over the weekend I hadn't seen for a while and was quite worried about how much garbage he had sucked in and was regurgitating about vaccines and gene therapy and how the Covid jab had created Long Covid. I pointed and laughed at him, which he took well, but lord, it's a worry.

I do not want to see dross from pages claiming to be connected to David Attenborough. I do not want to see garbage from the Dull Men's Club. I do not want to see reels. I just want to see what my friends are doing and saying. Why is this so hard?

I mostly use it in the browser, where a couple of extensions give you some control over the garbage but my God it's a torrent. This is just a tiny fraction of the garbage pages/groups I have blocked because it's their clickbait that spews all over my newsfeed

I don't ask for much in this life but my God I would love 20 minutes with Mark Zuckerberg to give him a piece of my mind about the absolute garbage experience that Facebook has become. I'm on it for a couple of groups and to keep in touch with some far-flung friends but wading through it is awful.
