26.02.2026 18:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I made a (hopefully funny) short about analysis paralysis! I came up with this idea after recording our podcast episode 254 and hearing Crystal's blurb in the intro for "less time than it takes to..."
Not our usual video content, but it was fun to make!
#boardgames
It also has interesting systems to create missions, build your homeship and track faction standings, all without needing a GM.
Time to convince some friends to try this.

Cool OMF 2097 type robot in an Apple 2 pixel style.
Attacking and Hit Rolls When a character makes an Attack or when a missile reaches its target, they typically make a Hit Roll. This determines both whether it hits its intended target and, if it does hit its target, where it hits. When you make a Hit Roll, pick two different six-sided dice, decide which is for column (the βtensβ) and which is for row (the βonesβ), and roll them. The intersection of the two is where the attack hits. (The top left of your mechβs grid is always 11.) /// Example: Adebayoβs LN-VIGIL is being attacked by a scavengerβs twin pistols. The scavenger makes one Location roll for each attack: they get a 46 (4 for column and 6 for row) and a 23. The first one completely misses, but the second one would hit his EW Processor. Any part hit
Reading Celestial Bodies, a mech rpg, by @binarystar.games and Charlotte Laskowski and it's π€―
For example, you place your mech components in a grid that also forms its hit table using 2d6. It makes small mechs automatically harder to hit and accurate weapons allow you to +/-1 on your die roll.
What lesser known free or nearly free methods are there to market a board game? π²βοΈ
So far I have: Reddit give away, Reddit crowdfunding games launching this week, BGG crowdfunding countdown, Kickstarter projects we love, TTGDA post (for members), BMG post (for users), post about it in general.
In August of 2021, I decided to try my hand at #boardgames π²βοΈ design. I know I'm the givey-uppey type, so I told myself that if I didn't have a game published in 5 years, I could go find something else to do. Evenglow is set to hit GenCon 4 years and 11 months after I made that deal with myself.

24.02.2026 06:27 β π 49 π 7 π¬ 4 π 1Left: "What I think I'll do when I have an evening off by myself" Rachel sits at a table playing Ofrenda. She holds a game piece and smiles excitedly. Starbuck sits nearby watching her. Apollo peeks at the game. Rachel: "Finally, a moment to explore solo modes of some games!" Right: "What I end up doing..." Rachel sits on a blue couch, looking blissfully dazed. Apollo is asleep in her lap, and Starbuck is napping on the back of the couch. A bowl of popcorn sits beside her. TV speaker: "It's Mister Darcy!".
New comic! Hands up if your evening plans have ever been hijacked by the allure of a screen... π

Iβm so sick of the toxic players in this hobby. I only needed like eight more turns.
Today I want to share that Ryan Dancey and AEG have parted ways.
This is not an easy post to write. Ryan has been a significant part of AEGβs story, and I am personally grateful for the years of work, passion, and intensity he brought to the company. We have built a lot together.
AEG would not exist without the creativity and hard work of designers.

How do you play four rounds in once night? π²
Gaslands always take several hours when we play, so we're love some tips how to speed it up.
It's live!! The game I designed, Honeypot, just launched on Kickstarter!
Two years of loving work. Would be grateful if you checked it out & considered backing!
It's an "I stack, you choose" game where you play as secret agent bears setting and avoding traps!

Rachel is looking at the back of the βThe Wolvesβ game box and notices that the lid is oriented opposite from the bottom of the box. Smiling with satisfaction, she lifts the lid and rotates it so it aligns perfectly with the bottom half. Somebody says "Oh, excuse me." and a hand grasps the box. A lady opens up the box and rotates the rulebook so it faces the same direction as the bottom of the box and the lid. She presses everything down neatly. She looks very pleased and Rachel stares in awe at this surpassing behaviour of making sure the lid and bottom are correctly aligned.
New comic! Be honestβ¦ are you the one who rotates just the box lid or also makes sure the rulebook is rotated correctly? π
