Sardegna was the biggest surprise this week, it's a small box containing an engaging game that feels big.
It was anice to revisit Eldritch Horror (twice) after all these years. π
Lastly, Middara has been great so far but its art style and (complex) rules prevent us from recommending it to people.

We see Heinze carrying a very big and heavy backpack holding at least 15 games (it shows the outlines of the boxes through the bag). Above the right panel it says: "Games we played at game night". We see the same image of Heinze carrying the back pack with only one small game highlighted in the entire backpack.
New comic! Bringing loads of games to game night and only ending up playing one or two small ones... Who else does this? π

So far this has been a very fun read and it's still early enough in October to join in!

Because of that we had reverse races with Dafs that make Joyride look like a racing simulator. π€£

A game of Sardegna in progress. A colorful map filled with wooden ships, pawns, houses and towers.
Tried Sardegna tonight and really enjoyed it! With the small L board version it's quite a 'big'-feeling euro in a small package.
Really enjoyed how the game has a 2nd phase in which all the resources have been farmed and the villagers turn from farmers into pawns that you use to gain influence.

02.10.2025 00:13 β π 12 π 1 π¬ 0 π 1It's a stripped down version in just 18 cards. It only retains the shoals and your 'strength' increases by catching low level fish. Most fish have a neat one time ability which makes the game a little more dynamic and strategic.
We think the game is best with three although it's still fun with two.
BG Stats 5 x 5. September was a surprisingly filled month, 39 plays and 24 different games!
We played loads of small games while hiking in the Alps and Playte was kind enough to send a bunch of their games!
Highlights: Adrenaline, Orapa Mine/Space, Tic Tac Trek.
AMA if any of these catch your interest! #bgstats

My nephew finally beat me at Pokemon At our yearly game. (I should have realised when we he asked which playmat I wanted, he stepped up his game.)
We finally played Adrenaline and enjoyed it a lot. Take Time has the potential to be a hit.
Playte also send us some games and we enjoyed those too.
An elderly woman presses a drinking glass to a wall to eavesdrop. Off-panel voices shout game-complaints about food (βCrisis! β¦ Thereβs not enough food β¦ I refuse to be a beggar!β); she responds βOh.β Caption: βAfter having played Agricola last night.β Next panel, she carefully offers to get some bread from the market for her neighbour Rachel, who looks surprised and a bit shocked.
New comic! π Watch out... the walls (might) have ears! π Did you ever have to take a beggar card in Agricola?

Honestly, we should get further into BattleCON: Devastation of Indines that just it's first six fighters before looking at getting other L99 Games...
We have played Millenium Blades at someone else's house tough and that game is simply glorious.
Nice! This one is definitely on our list as well. π€©
28.09.2025 18:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's really clever! Do you enjoy it most playing it head to head or with multiple people?
We tried Orapa Space with a bigger group but left the black hole out and were surprised it the deduction part was easier than Orapa Mine.

The box of Take Time
A game of Take Time in progress
Fancy cardbacks with metallic art
We went to a board game meet up and played the upcoming game Take Time.
It's a co-op game in which you need to play 12 cards around a clock (that consists of six parts) and the sum of the (mostly faced down) placed cards should ascend.
It's kind of Skyteam meets the Mind and it's a lot of fun!π
The way you wrote it I fully expected you to say something about what happened to my plumps in the icebox.
But we wish you a speedy recovery!
We still believe! π
