Signed, someone currently rehabbing from ACL surgery after ignoring my injury for months. It was stupid of me, and it led to more injury that required a harder surgery. Now I am trying to learn how to run and squat again. Please do not push your bodily limits through injury.

If you have a ruptured ACL please do not “push through” it. You will make it worse.

I am begging people to please stop encouraging others to push past their athletic injury for a competition.

Here’s the thing: if you have a torn acl, yeah you might feel fine and even be able to run or walk. But as you continue to do so, you are grinding away at your cartilage in your knees, causing even more damages to other ligaments and increasing arthritis risk. More intense the sport, the more damage

This happened to me. I felt fine most days an could even stand on one leg. Then my leg buckled. It felt totally fine right before.

This caused a meniscus tear. I had to have an even more intensive surgery.

I’m not an Olympic athlete by any means, but as someone with this exact injury - a torn acl feels innocuous because there’s few nerves/blood in that ligament. You may feel fine doing your sport most days. However, it’s really just a matter of time before the knee buckles under you.

Btw, this is not a statement on her qualifications to the Olympics. She is clearly an accomplished athlete.

However, no amount of muscle or training in the world will counteract a LIGAMENT rupture.

As someone who is CURRENTLY recovering from a surgery to correct an ACL rupture that went undiagnosed for months, Lindsey Vonn’s injury in first 13 seconds of the Olympics is the most predictable thing on earth.

You are not supposed to run with an acl tear, much less throw yourself off a mountain.

Section 230 is not a threat to privacy. It’s the legislature’s complete inaction on digital privacy that enables the abuse of privacy on the internet.

We need a federal privacy law for this reason. Otherwise, abuse privacy under the shield of existing law will continue.

If you’re curious, this was the case. I had to do FOIA research because the states law mirrors FOIA, and the state case law was silent as to in camera ex parte reviews.
