Anyway, this happens a LOT, which surprises me even less! XD

As for the closeness, I do recall at least 2 other times it's been this way. 2022 (Bloom VS Wither) and 2024 (Stardust VS Seafoam) come to mind.

But there are fights that feel lowkey predictable, in my opinion. 2023's Werewolves VS Vampires felt like it had a STRONG lean toward the wolves all along

Then again, I probably shouldn't be. AF mentioned switching to showing percentages instead of exact team scores b/c people were getting too competitive about the whole thing.

Previously, they'd hide the scores about a week before fight end, iirc

You can also friendly fire people on the same team, but that only counts for a fraction of the points. (Previously, it was for 25% of what you'd get for posting a genuine attack, but now it's 75%, because there's less of an emphasis on competition and more of one on giving, if that makes any sense.)

These teams often have themes, but said themes do not need to be present within the artwork itself.

If the recipient of the first attack decides, they can return the favor (often called a revenge) by drawing YOUR character(s).

Art Fight is basically an art-trading game, of sorts, where a person from one team draws a character (or more) belonging to someone on the other team to score points for their own.

For further clarity, it seems to have stopped being nonfunctional, and I can only hope that's the last of that nonsense.

Eventually, I was able to mentally set this character apart from myself in such a way that she evolved into a face of her very own. And yet unlike her, I constantly felt I had a much longer way to go along my own path.

I appreciate the insight! I hadn't thought of it quite that way before, myself, so this really means a lot!

Truth be told, Avaika once was "that sona," to the point I believed I was this character for several years of my childhood (and into early teens), so there are some remnant elements we share.

Then again, I can't do it. The name and face I present with here and beyond already match. I just wish I lived up to Avaika's confidence more without the irreversible blunders that come with my autistic, developmentally-delayed package.

If I traded this avvie in for one of my more shy and uncertain faces, like Makal, or Lily... Would my social blunders read more clearly as the accidents they truly are?

17. Come to think of it, I'm not as much of a sports person as I would've thought. I tend to like more unsung things like dodgeball/likewise... That, and sometimes I can't resist the urge to just nyoom from one place to another in a satisfying sprint. XD;;
(I used to play baseball as a kid though!)
