Part of the convoluted scam at the moment is that OpenAI isn't publically traded, so retail investors can't buy shares directly.

But Nvidia and AMD are on the stock market, so by tying themselves to OpenAI they can position themselves as a proxy investment. Ride the coattails, as it were.

In ten years we'll be using ARM CPUs and GPUs in desktops, laptops, servers and everything else simply because AMD, Intel and Nvidia will be out of business.

Essentially AMD just handed a huge chunk of shareholder equity to OpenAI on the promise that OpenAI will buy chips from them.

OpenAI might not even *exist* by the time that check comes due.

Shareholders should be in open revolt and if you own AMD I would be very concerned if I were you.
